Kaufman sur la magie de David Berglas: DVD 1: David Berglas Interviewed by Marc Paul David was invited to appear at a convention in Las Vegas in 2008 but unfortunately could not attend. Instead, he sent a filmed segment in which he was interviewed by mentalist and friend Marc Paul. The interview will give you an overview of David’s remarkable life, with clips from some of his many television shows including his famous “Table Levitation” and pulse-stopping routine Following the interview, David briefly performs some of his signature card magic. David’s last television series consisted of six episodes of 45 minutes each (series in the United Kingdom often run for only six episodes) as well as a one-hour Christmas special. Episode Four contains a segment with guest star Omar Sharif, as well as David’s somewhat hurried performance of an assortment of card effects for members of the studio audience. The production of the series was fraught with difficulties, and financial constraints meant that sometimes there was no time for rehearsals or reshoots, and the camera angles, stage directions, and just about anything else that would have been perfected through rehearsal was not. Footage that should not have been broadcast was, and as you’ll see in the card magic segment, some of the spectators appear to be in a deep coma and barely able to speak. Despite all of these difficulties, David perseveres—which is perhaps a better lesson than watching him do it all perfectly and easily with cooperative spectators. Magic Circle Collector’s Day Demonstration (1996) For the 21st Magic Circle Collector’s Day in 1996, Roger Crosthwaite gave a talk on the history of the trick known as “Think a Card.” After the lecture, David, then President of the Magic Circle, gave a brief demonstration of his style of card magic. Unknown to David at the time, but fortunately for us, the performance was recorded and sold by The Magic Circle for several years as part of a series of videotapes of various Collector’s Days. The circumstances are far from optimal: he was performing for people he had known for many years, and it was also quite early in the day. One of his spectator/assistants is also trying to “catch him out,” as the British say. The video is valuable for us because it captures David performing card magic in an impromptu setting in his prime, doing things which do not appear in any other visual record. The double and triple coincidence effects at the end are perfect examples of how David can weave together a reputation-making effect during a performance. Penser à enlever la carte à f****r de petite taille du jeu, avec son d****e évidemment, sinon tu as une chance sur 26 d'avoir une mauvaise surprise

CEDMagic, je vous ai envoyé une proposition de solution à votre ACAAN en mp. Je doute qu'elle soit la bonne, mais bon je tente, ça me turlupine trop depuis quelques jours

Tout à fait Beru, il nous a parlé de choses que l'on peut apprendre en cours de théâtre, mais des rappels ne font jamais de mal, surtout lorsqu'ils sont appliqués à la magie

Ah, la rancoeur et la jalousie... Désolé pour toi ratcekou.

Cette version est idéale pour la scène. Elle utilise trois jeux de cartes: bleu, blanc et rouge. Deux servent à choisir librement la carte et le nombre, et le comptage est effectué dans le troisième jeu, mélangé par un spectateur pendant toute la durée des choix et de l'histoire à raconter... (le "plot" de MJ est très bon, on sort du classique "choisis une carte, un chiffre et boum!". C'est plus élaboré on va dire).

Evidemment ça va bien plus loin que tu ne peux l'imaginer...

Quand je suis confronté à un relou (un indécrottable comme dit CED), je fais toujours la même chose. Je le mets en valeur d'abord (il aime bien ça, le relou), c'est à dire que je lui fais choisir une carte (si je fais une routine de cartes), et insiste bien sur l'importance de sa carte, sur le fait qu'il doit vraiment s'en souvenir... Je lui dis de la garder dans sa main, face cachée. Ensuite je continue avec d'autres tours, et après quelques minutes, le relou va se réveiller (au moins pendant ce temps il aura été calme et silencieux), et va me dire quelquechose dans le genre "J'en fais quoi de ma carte maintenant?". Et moi de répondre : "Ah oui, elle est là, je la cherchais depuis tout à l'heure... Merci! On peut l'applaudir!" Tu peux être sûr d'être tranquille pour la suite. Ceci m'arrive rarement, car je n'aime pas ridiculiser, je trouve cela incompatible avec l'esprit magique, mais dans des cas extrêmes c'est bien utile

Regarde dans les premières pages de cette discussion Jaün. La version de John Born est "the best" pour le moment, à mon avis. Un seul jeu, une carte librement nommée, un nombre librement choisi, le magicien ne touche (presque) pas les cartes, et bam!

Merci Thomas , Régis n'avait rien demandé à personne... En attendant la vidéo de l'ACAAN de CEDMagic, je peux te répondre, Jeannot. L'ACAAN de Matt Johnson n'est pas trop mal. Le jeu peut (presque) être en évidence avant que le spectateur ne choississe sa carte. En revanche, il n'est pas examinable, mais le reset est immédiat. Idée, originalité : 7/10 Praticabilité : 5/10 Impact sur le public : 9/10 Explications et clarté du support vidéo : 10/10
